SINGER/SONGWRITER Indecka credits music for giving him solace when the chips were down.

Now, he says he is ready for the big time. He made his recording debut 10 years ago with the song Always be There which was produced by Michael 'Jah Mikes' Bell for Yahbell Entertainment.

Since then, he has recorded for various producers including Julius 'Zege' Mitchell from Sweatboxx Productions and Jami Dread from Lyrical Wars Productions.

The artiste, whose real name is Chevol Grant, likens his musical and personal journeys to a winding rollercoaster ride.

Raised predominantly by his grandmother, Indecka says he endured many hardships and turned to music for motivation. He began singing at age 10 but it was as a teenager that he began taking a career in entertainment seriously.

With songs like Rice and Peas, Jah Protect Me, and The Summer is On Again, Indecka displays his versatility on reggae and dancehall beats.

He says he brings "Lyrical content with a difference" and "music that is both uplifting and fun for people to enjoy to the table.

Indecka hopes his latest releases will break new ground.

"I want people to get familiar with my name and my work. This is something I am doing for the long run and not just a temporary thing," he said.

M-Gee hits with Never See Come See

Philadelphia-based reggae singer M-Gee is savouring his biggest success to date with Never See Come See which is reportedly enjoying strong rotation on urban radio in the City of Brotherly Love.

"I'm totally focused on the development of my career right now, and it's all about the music for me. At first, I wasn't very interested in music as a career, but I love singing and people always encouraged me to take it seriously," Kingston-born M-Gee explained.

Another of his songs, No Tail, is also doing well on the New York reggae scene.

M-Gee was recently in Jamaica promoting the songs.

Wasp is Hot Like Fire

Following a hiatus, deejay Wasp has returned with a new team and song titled Hot Like Fire. Produced by Justus and Roach of JA Productions, the single is featured on the Overtime rhythm.

Wasp says he is preparing to release his Above Average mixtape at the end of August.

A video for Hot Like Fire is expected to be completed and released about the same time as Above Average. His latest video, Thank You, is number three on the HYPE-TV VTX Countdown.

Wasp is best known for hits such as Unfair Officer and Cry Fi Dem.

Over on the Billboard Reggae Album chart, Jimmy Cliff extends his reign to three weeks in the number one spot with Rebirth. Moving into number two is former number one, Spark Seeker by Matisyahu.
