REGGAE/DANCHEALL artiste Jah Cure has copped a whopping five nominations for the 2010 Excellence in Music and Entertainment Awards (EME).

The artiste, who had a very successful 2009, is nominated for Vocalist of the Year, Song of the Year, Album of the Year, Cultural/Positive Artiste of the Year & Collaboration of the Year.

For vocalist of the year, Jah Cure is being nominated based on the good quality work he put out last year. Jah Cure had the smash hit Call on Me with Phyllisia which is nominated for Song of the Year and collaboration of the Year. Before the release of Call on Me, Jah Cure released his fifth album The Universal Cure which is nominated for Album of the Year. Released under the Sobe Entertainment/Danger Zone imprint and distributed by Fontana and Universal Music Group, The Universal Cure contains 16 tracks and just missed out on being nominated for a 2010 Reggae Grammy.

Based on the immense quantity and quality of positive music that the Cure put out last year he has also been nominated for Cultural/Positive Artiste of the Year. Jah Cure sees these nominations as a validation of the tremendous work that he has put into the music. He reveals: "We have been all over Europe, performed to thousands of fans over the Caribbean and made some good music for the Jamaican fans. The work will continue and for 2010 it will be more good music; music of love, peace and unity."

Jah Cure's label mate Phyllisia is also nominated for Vocalist of the Year and Best New Artiste.

This year's staging of the EMEs will be on Thursday February 4 at the Gardens of the Jamaica Pegasus Hotel.
