Jason Young smashed his 200m personal best today to lead the charge of young Jamaicans seeking to succeed Usain Bolt and Yohan Blake.
Young ran 19.86 seconds to win the event at a meet in Lucerne, Switzerland, shaving more than half a second off his previous best of 20.42.
The breakthrough performance ranks Young third in the world this year, only behind Bolt and Blake.
Interestingly, he’s not making the trip to London for the Olympics unlike his countryman, Warren Weir, who he defeated today.
