Kiwanis Club spreads cheer
Saturday, December 22, 2012
THE Kiwanis Club of New Kingston kept its annual Christmas treat at St Andrew High School on December 8, catering to 315 children from children's homes and basic schools in Kingston.
Club executives including immediate past president Sharon Williams and distinguished presidents Valerie Crawford and Beverley Thompson helped treat the children to snacks and gifts.
Singer Nickeisha Barnes, runner-up in the 2006 Rising Stars contest, was special guest.
The Kiwanis Club of New Kingston has organised this treat for over 20 years. Cherubs, Allman Town, Arnold Road, and Lalyce basic schools, and the SOS Children's Village, were some of the recipients of this year's event.
