CROONER Leo Carmichael produced a stellar performance at the Jamaica Co-operative Credit Union League (JCCUL) Bursary Awards on Wednesday.

Carmichael, from his first note, wowed patrons with smooth delivery. His experience on the local hotel circuit was undoubtedly the impetus which allowed him to seamlessly ease the patrons from the business-like tone of the awards ceremony into a more relaxed mode.

His selection of classics from the repertoire of Reggae icons Dennis Brown and Gregory Isaacs were especially well-received. Carmichael's faultless versions commanded impromptu sing-a-longs and involuntary swaying of torsos during his stint.

He received a rousing applause as he exited the stage. The function, which was held at the Terra Nova All-Suite Hotel in St Andrew, hosted 26 of the 42 credit union awardees and specially invited guests.
