THE eighth staging of the Linstead Ackee and Jerk Festival takes place on Monday, National Heroes Day.
Held under the theme, 'Ackee and Jerk: Community integration from Wi Hand to Wi Belly', the event will be held in Linstead Square.
Chairman of the Linstead Development Area Committee, Brian Perry, says while corporate Jamaica has not bought into the festival as much as they would like, he is happy about the community support.
"The support from the community has been great. It has been meeting the objective which is to integrate communities and that has been done," said Perry.
Highlights of the day include the crowning of Miss Linstead Ackee and Jerk Festival Queen as well as a performance from Exhale.
