A unidentified man was shot an injured at Monday's staging of Grand Kadooment, according to the Daily Nation newspaper.
According to police reports, the man was shot in the leg at Blighton Black Rock in
St Michael at approximately 3 pm. It was unclear who did the shooting.
For a few minutes, the incident slowed down a part of the Grand Kadooment's proceedings as some of the revellers assisted the injured man until the police and ambulance arrived.
The newspaper also reported that a woman dislocated her shoulder and another suffered an injured foot.
Assistant Superintendent of Police Bruce Rowe said that he was pleased with the overall behaviour of the crowd.
"Up to this point, things have gone relatively smoothly for the police
and there have been few reports of incidents," he said.
