KINGSTON,Jamaica — American teenage boy band Mindless Behavior are scheduled for their debut Jamaican performance at the Liguanea Club in New Kingston on September 28.
The quartet comprises Prodigy (Craig Thomas), Princeton (Jacob Anthony Perez), Ray Ray (Rayan Lopez), and Roc Royal (Chresanto August).
In an exclusive telephone interview with the Jamaica Observer, Princeton said group is currently in rehearsal for their Young and In Charge concert. The show is being hosted by American entertainment consultant Jason Newman and Sommersetcrest Productions.
“We are extremely excited. This is just one of our shows … This is a concert, so were are already doing sound checks. We and our dancers are rehearsing. We are hoping to give a very memorable performance,” he said.
Mindless Behaviour will share stage with X-Factor’s 2012 winner Melanie Amaro and local acts Tifa, Denique, and Twins of Twins.
Princeton said he is a fan of Caribbean acts including Rihanna and Bounty Killer.
“We would like to work with Rihanna someday. I also listened to No Doubt’s album Rock Steady which features Bounty Killer on the track Hey Baby,” he said.
Mindless Behaviour was formed in 2008 at an audition held by Walter Millsap, CEO of Conjunction Entertainment, and Vincent Herbert, head of Streamline Records.
“We clicked from the first day. We met because we all loved music and performing,” said Princeton.
