Morgan Heritage member Memo 'Mojo' Morgan is in stable condition after a medical scare last weekend.

A statement from the singer revealed that he contracted a viral infection. He said doctors likened his symptoms to viral meningitis.

Though his blood pressure became elevated due to the infection, his vital signs have since normalised and Morgan is expected to be released . from the Aventura Hospital and Medical Center in South Florida soon.

He believes his illness resulted from personal issues and professional challenges.

"It has finally taken it's toll on my physical health," he said.

Mojo reportedly collapsed during a recording session Saturday at the Circle House studio in Miami.

He is the youngest member of Morgan Heritage, a sibling group best known for songs like Don't Haffi Dread (To be Rasta) and Down by the River.
