Music, fashion at Pulse for FNO

Wednesday, September 05, 2012

VOGUE model Sedene Blake and actress and model Nicole ‘Sky’ Grey are among the special guests at the special trunk show scheduled for the Pulse complex in New Kingston this Thursday as the Jamaica Observer Celebrates Fashion’s Night Out.

Director of Sales and Marketing at Pulse Safia Cooper explains that the trunk show will feature more than 20 booths featuring clothing, cosmetics, jewellery, and other accessories as well as houseware all in one location.

“We at Pulse have always been a strong supporter of the local creative industries over the years. And as part of a thrust to stimulate economic growth in the industry, we have been providing a platform to showcase the talents of Jamaicans, particularly through Caribbean Fashionweek. However, we want to take it a step further and give the industry that business outlet to bring their products directly to the public, especially those who do not have the means to set up a boutique or outlet of their own. That’s the reasoning behind Trunk Show Thursdays.”

Cooper adds further that following the kick-off this Thursday, Trunk Show Thursdays will be staged at Pulse twice monthly, with the next set for the end of this month.

This Thursday’s staging, which kicks off at 5:00 pm and goes until 12 midnight, will also feature a mini fashion show featuring some of the hopefuls in this year’s Caribbean Model Search, cocktails courtesy of Appleton and music by DJ Narity.

Cooper also mentioned that members of the public can have an input as to what is available at Trunk Show Thursdays by logging on the Pulse’s Facebook page and indicating what they would like to have available at the event.
