Swimmers, artistes provide thrills at Music 'n' Sync

LAST Sunday, swimming and music enthusiasts were treated to an inspiring combination of aquatic art and music for the genesis of the Music 'n' Sync show held at the poolside of the Hilton Kingston Hotel.

The much anticipated show featured breathtaking performances by the Island Aquatics synchronised swimmers alongside live performances from world renowned jazz musician Orville Hammond, Desi Jones, Dale Haslam, Nadje Leslie, L'Acado dancers, Voicemail, Noddy Virtue and Jodie Ann Pantry.

This marriage of synchronised swimming and music proved to be one made in heaven and the entertainment value was first class.

Dr Christine Gabbadon, president of Island Aquatics Synchro Club, shared her delight with how the event turned out. She added that she was extremely pleased with the accomplishments of the swimming club.

Recently, three senior swimmers -- Michelle-Ann Gabbadon, Tashna Smith-Edwards and Shannon March -- were awarded with the Prime Minister's Youth Award for Excellence in Sports as the first Jamaican team to the Junior Pan Am Games in August of last year.

The organisers said that all the proceeds from the Music n' Sync Concert will go towards the development of synchronised swimming.
