POPULAR R&B singer R Kelly, will not be performing on Friday, at this year's Reggae Sumfest — an annual music festival held in Montego Bay, Jamaica.
News broke earlier today that the International Night 1 headline act had undergone emergency surgery to drain an abscess from his tonsil. His publicist Allan Mayer said that the singer will be 'laid up indefinitely' at Chicago's North-western Memorial Hospital.
Publicists for Summerfest Productions, Headline Entertainment, told the Observer today that a replacement act is being sought to fill the breach left by Kelly's absence and said a release would be issued this afternoon.
