Pluto for funday

Thursday, July 12, 2012

Singers Pluto Shervington and Michael Palmer are headliners for the annual Merritone Family Funday which takes place July 15 at Lake Quassy in Middlebury, Connecticut.

Conroy Allison, a spokesman for the event, said the 'Family of the Year Award' will be presented to Garfield Comrie, an executive at GraceKennedy's Remittance Services Ltd/Western Union.

The Merritone Family Funday is the brainchild of the Blake brothers — Trevor, Winston, Tyrone and Monty — who have operated the Merritone sound system for over 50 years.

Its showcase of Jamaican fare such as domino tournament, bun and patty eating contest and dance competition, have made the 'Funday' one of the most popular Caribbean events in the tri-state area.
