Shelly-Ann, Digicel host fun day

Tuesday, October 09, 2012

TELECOMS provider Digicel partnered with sprint sensation Shelly-Ann Fraser Pryce to host a grand Family Fun Day in community of Waterhouse, St Andrew, on Saturday.

The fun day was intended to "thank" residents of the community for their support. Fraser-Pryce was born and raised in Waterhouse.

"As an athlete, it's a great feeling to know that your entire country, and importantly your community, is supporting you; and the Waterhouse community continues to give me tremendous support over the years —particularly during the London Olympics. So to be able to thank Waterhouse, where my roots lie, in this major way means a lot to me, and I have to thank Digicel for making this Community Fun Day a reality," said Fraser-Pryce.

Fraser-Pryce is the Olympic 100-metres Champion.

The residents were treated to activities, including giveaways of phones and call credit.

Entertainment included performances from community talents as well as top acts like popular entertainers Romain Virgo, Jermaine Edwards, Delando, and Garfield Reid.

The Kiddies Village was a big hit.
