Soca couple to ignite Bacchanal Fridays

Friday, March 01, 2013

BACCHANAL Fridays will stage its first band performance this evening with Trinidad and Tobago's duo of Bunji Garlin and Fay-Ann Lyons inside Mas Camp.

They will be backed by the Asylum Band.

Bunji Garlin, whose real name is Ian Alvarez, is arguably the top lyricist nowadays.

With his 2013 hit Differentology riding high, Bunji Garlin is sure to have patrons singing and dancing along.

During his 14-year career, Garlin's hits include So & So, Irregular, Banana, and Born Ready. He has won Trinidad's International Soca Monarch title four times.

Garlin's other half, soca royalty Fay-Ann Lyons will join him on stage. With hits such as Heavy T Bumpa, Miss Behave, Meet Super Blue, and Display.

Lyons was the first woman to win the title of International Soca Monarch in 2009, while also copping the award for Groovy Soca Monarch in that same year. She is the daughter of veteran soca artiste and the 2013 Soca Monarch Super Blue.
