KINGSTON, Jamaica – Jamaica’s songstress Tessanne Chin is throwing her support behind a housing programme in neighbouring Haiti with a benefit concert in Florida early February.

According to charity organisation Food for the Poor, the season 5 winner of NBC’s The Voice is hoping fans will support her efforts to “replace rickety huts with safe, permanent homes for families in the community of Ganthier”.

Tessanne’s commitment to helping families living in despair in Haiti has her joining Food for the Poor’s Building Hope Gala as its headline performer, the organisation said on its website.

The benefit show is scheduled for Saturday, February 1 at the Polo Club of Boca Raton.
