Third World continues anniversary tour
Tuesday, September 21, 2010
On Saturday, September 25, Third World Band will perform at the Homerun Music Festival at Digital Domain Park in Port St Lucie, Florida.
Third World considers themselves ambassadors of Reggae music, as well as ambassadors for charity. Cat Coore remarks, "Whenever we are given the opportunity to be apart of something that is bigger than ourselves, we are happy to lend our time and support. As musicians, it is our responsibility to give back to the community in whatever way we can. It is vital - this is something that is bigger than us. And to be performing at such an amazing venue, well that is a totally different ball game."
Homerun Music Festival is the first International Music Festival to be held at Digital Domain Park in Port St. Lucie. The festival was developed to celebrate the Caribbean and Latin Heritage on Florida's Treasure Coast. In partnership with the San Juan Festival and The Puerto Rican Association for Hispanic Affairs, the festival will feature artists such as Third World Band, Machel Montano, El Gran Combo, Yannick Koffi, Kingdom Souljazz, Sito Rock, 506 Crew, among others. In addition to live performances, there will be food and arts and crafts representative of the Caribbean. Proceeds from the festival will go toward Roundtable of St. Lucie County, an organization that is comprised of several non-profit organizations and business groups whose focus is geared toward empowering and educating children in the community.
The performance in Port St. Lucie comes after the band's media promotions of their current album Patriots, which was released in August.
