College Cooler Fete delivers

Saturday, November 25, 2017

University of the West Indies's (UWI) Marketing Association recently staged its third annual College Cooler Fete at the Sand Pit located on the institution's Mona campus in St Andrew.

The party is held to provide funding grants for marketing students.

“College Cooler Fete was promoted by the club and its members through social media, hall walks and at parties. Our attendees are college students from UWI and other institutions. We do not restrict the attendees, therefore, the atmosphere is very relaxed and diverse. It's for everyone to enjoy,” Ashley Amari Hinds, president of the marketing association, told the Jamaica Observer.

“Our aim is to have this event each year with the hope that it continues to grow, as this will increase our offerings for the marketing grants as well,” Hinds continued.

College Cooler Fete featured an explosion of musical confetti provided by Darkcide's DJ So Sick, DJ Laing D, Bloodline Franco and Chromatic's Heavy D.

“Patrons were in high spirits as they partied the night away. The crowd was also very responsive, and everyone was dancing in groups and having a blast,” said Hinds.

Described as one of the must attend events on the college circuit, College Cooler Fete has maintained a strong following since its first staging. Among the companies who threw their support behind the initiative are JN Way, Digicel Play, Coca-Cola and Tru-Juice.
