Tuesday, October 03, 2017

Rhode Island native DJ Paul Michael on Friday night set Ribbiz Ultra Lounge in St Andrew ablaze with an enticing set for the Appleton Signature Friday series.

The DJ, a member of New York City's Natural Born Club Killers, demonstrated he was worthy of the moniker, delivering a mix that included hardcore dancehall favourites, hip hop club bangers, and the occasional soca hit. The DJ delivered on promises to “wow the audience with a few surprises”.

Entertaining a full house at Ribbiz, the DJ adjusted quickly to the club atmosphere. Building on the superb set played by Ribbiz DJ and co-director, Kamal Bankay, the international DJ moved his audience through the most recent urban releases. Before long the attention shifted to dancehall, much to the delight of those present.

DJ Paul Michael was noticeably prepared, utilising dub plates from Masicka, Aidonia and Vybz Kartel. He engaged the spirited crowd, and through sporadic breaks in music, partygoers could be heard echoing the lyrics to some of the most popular songs.
