Emerging dancehall artiste Flashmo has dropped his latest single Pree I which tackles the issue of persons being nosey.

“I was inspired after experiencing the behaviour of persons towards me, especially after realising how common the practice is,” Flashmo explained.

For the Bronx, New York-based Uneon Movement Records, which produced the single, the song which is gaining momentum and looks set to become a hit for the label.

Flashmo, whose given name is Roel Harris, is originally from Spanish Town. He attended St Jago High school before relocating to New York in the early 2000s. For Flashmo, his interest in music began during his days in high school. However, he decided to pursue it professionally when he entered into adulthood. He thereafter got involved in studio engineering at Record Factory on Hagley Park Road in Kingston, which was his first entry into music.

“I started out as a songwriter and later I moved into engineering. I am heavily involved in music production and I have worked with quite a few artistes,” said Flashmo.

He spoke about his musical journey. “My journey, I think, just like most artistes, has had its ups and downs — but for me it's great that I really love and appreciate music. That's what keeps me going.”

Among those he has collaborated with musically are Reggae Vibes Productions, Jay Crayzie Productions, Locke City Productions and dancehall artiste/producer Lanz. In 2013, Flashmo produced the Sweet Child rhythm compilation which featured, among others, the likes of Frankie Paul and Courtney Melody. The following year he released the Hatchback rhythm. He has also released the tracks Siblings and Careless Whispers.
