Griffiths to get IED honour

FOR the past four years, the Image Entertainment & Distinction (IED) Awards show has honoured influential celebrities, philanthropists, businessmen and women who serve their communities.

On September 30, the fifth annual IED Awards show will head to the Kings Theatre in Brooklyn, New York . Host for the evening are Shaggy and Tara Wallace of VH1's hit show Love & Hip-Hop New York.

“We are proud to honour those who have contributed and/or have set trends in their careers. we know that this year will be bigger and better! We are happy that the awards will take place for the first time at the King s Theatre in Brooklyn,”, said the IED Awards CEO, Madonna Williams.

In entertainment, honorees for the Lifetime Achievement in Music Awards are Marcia Griffiths and The Mighty Sparrow; International Award in Music will be given to Maxi Priest; and Vintage R&B singer Mel'isa Morgan will receive the IED Lifetime Image Award. Irie Jam Radio personality Roy Walters willreceive the IED Media Award. Photographer Roland Hyde will get the IED Trailblazer Award.
