DUNN'S River Falls will be the venue for St Ann-based Illusion Sound this evening as they celebrate with the annual event Illusion Anniversary.

“Once the Illusion Sound plays, people in the dancehall enjoy and remember the vibe and musical journey we take them on, and our extended family grows. This is why every year Illusion Anniversary is the biggest party we play 'cause the people are guaranteed more than just a party. Illusion Anniversary is how we share with our constantly family great music, genious spinning and high energy that can only be explained by our name — illusion,” said manager P J McGill, who has been with the sound system since its inception in 2005.

Based in Ocho Rios, Illusion Sound started with DJs Craig “DJ Craigis” Kelly and Marcol “DJBiggz” Walters, whose passions and musical prowess only improved with the growth of the sound. Today Illusion is the top sound out of the tourist city.

With 13 years under their belt, Illusion Sound has expanded to offer a more versatile scope of DJs which include crowd favourites Cado “DJ Bulbie” Angus and Jermaine “DJ Caspa” Davis, as well as the most recent addition of Travis “DJ Travo” Iron.

All masters of hard-core juggling, distinctive remixes and even original jam mixes, the entertainers offer a diverse and entertaining musical appeal which has caught the eyes and ears of top players in the industry and entertainment stakeholders.

Illusion was nominated for the Your View Award 2017 Sound of the Year and has been featured on BBC 1Xtra's Radio 'The Art of Juggling' and WhatsGood Radio in Niarobi, Kenya. The sound has also been a top act for the Caribbean's largest music events, including Dream Weekend, BritJam, Reggae Sumfest, Daydreams, Sandz, and UWI Carnival.

Their global sound stays true to the vibe of Jamaican music, an appeal which has landed them major bookings in London, Canada, Florida, Washington DC, New York, Spain, and Italy, to name a few.

In addition to their own DJs, Illusion Anniversary will also feature DJ Kentucky, DJ P.L.O, Bishop Escobar and DJ Ashile. There will be live performances from dancehall artistes TeeJay and Prohgress.

Part proceeds from the event will go towards funding for individual care packages for sickle-cell patients.
