Broadcaster and events promoter Markland Edwards is venturing into new territory. He recently launched Action Entertainment Booking Agency & Artiste Management.

Edwards, who has many years experience in the gospel music industry, told the Jamaica Observer that he is banking on his knowledge and expertise to succeed as an agent and manager.

“There is a need for proper representation of gospel artistes. Too many times individuals and event promoters are not aware of how to contact most of these artistes. With proper representation, artistes are taken seriously, and it also adds a level of professionalism to their career,” he said.

Edwards added that, “Action Entertainment brings almost three decades of experience within the gospel music industry. And with my knowledge and expertise locally and internationally in both secular and Christian circles, I bring a high level of professionalism from the enquiry is made to the actual delivery of the talent.”

Some of the acts Edwards' company represents are Chevelle Franklyn, George Nooks, Marlon Christy, DJ Rebirth, Latoya HD, and Christina Roshay.

Since 2013, Edwards has produced and promoted the annual Gosplash in Portmore.

He entered media in 1993 as a broadcaster at LOVE FM. He later migrated to Canada where he continued to work in media.

He has also worked at Nationwide Radio, Mega Jamz 98FM and Flow 93.5 FM in Toronto, Canada.
