Xyclone set for Portland Paradise Weekend

Thursday, December 06, 2018

THE third annual staging of the Portland Paradise Weekend gets underway at Island View Lawn in Bryan's Bay, Portland.

The event kicks off tomorrow and runs until Sunday.

Baltimore-based deejay Xyclone is among this year's performers. He is promising a memorable set.

“Patrons can expect a high-energy performance. I don't do many shows in Jamaica so when I do come home I bring my A- game. I will be performing songs such as How Yuh Bad Suh and Tell the Truth among others,” he told the Jamaica Observer.

Portland Paradise Weekend boasts five events: namely Fire and Ice, Sunbreak, Frosted All-White Inclusive, Revel After Dark, and Infusion Dancehall Night.

Xyclone will be performing on the latter gig on Saturday night. The other artistes scheduled to perform on that evening are D'Angel, Shauna Chyn and John Bling. Wally British is slated to host the event.

Fire Squad, DJ Mookie, DJ Lando Ravaz and DJ Mental Mad Boss are billed to provide music.

“It feels good to be on the line-up of performers. I see a lot of potential in this event and I am glad to be one of the artistes who's helping to spread the word,” said Xyclone.

Xyclone is currently promoting the remix of Meck It Clap, featuring Konshens. He is working on an EP to be released next year.

Last year, he topped the Billboard Reggae album chart with From the Basement to the Big Leagues. His follow- up album 2774 Waterford Parkway peaked at number four in June.
