#London2017: Jamaica's Praught finishes 14th in 3000m steeplechase

KINGSTON, Jamaica — Jamaican Aisha Praught pulled through 14th in 9mins 44seconds in the 3000m steeplechase at the London World Championship today.

American Emma Coburn created a major upset, defeating the dominant Kenyans winning in 9 minutes 02sec, in an American one two finish.

The 26-year-old Olympic bronze medallist finished ahead of teammate Courtney Frerichs who ran a personal best of 9:03.77.

Defending champion Hyvin Jepkemoi of Kenya took the bronze in 9:04.03.

Olympic champion and world record holder Ruth Jebet of Bahrain finished fifth after leading for the majority of the race.
