KINGSTON, Jamaica- The Road Safety Unit (RSU) has reported  that 11 people have been killed in traffic crashes since the start of the year.  

This represents a reduction of thirty-one per cent when compared to the similar period in 2012. The RSU reported that forty per cent of the road users killed were pedestrians and 75 per cent of the collisions occurred at night.

As a result the RSU is appealing to pedestrians to ensure that they wear light coloured clothing at night in order to ensure that they are visible to motorists.  Drivers are also urged  to look out for pedestrians especially at nights.
