16-y-o girl stabs peer to death in Hanover

HANOVER, Jamaica — A 16-year-old girl was last night arrested after she allegedly stabbed her peer to death while at a birthday party in Jew Hill, Johnson Town in Hanover.

The dead girl, who was also 16 years old, has been identified as Shaniekey Brown, also called Ribbon — a student of the Merlene Ottey High School in the parish.

According to the police, the two teens had an altercation when the accused left and returned with a knife and stabbed Brown three times — in the shoulder, neck and hand.

The incident happened about 10:45 pm.

The accused teen, whose identity the police did not release, has not yet been charged.
