16 women arrested in Westmoreland ganja bust

WESTMORELAND, Jamaica — Thirty persons were arrested when Narcotics Police seized over 700 pounds of ganja during an anti-narcotics operation in Westmoreland yesterday.

According to detectives, the group of persons, which includes 16 women, were taken into custody about 2:00 pm, as they were preparing the ganja for export at a house in Orange Hill in the parish.

It is estimated that the drug has a street value of J$2,800,000.
