17-y-o dies in suspected drowning

CLARENDON, Jamaica — A Bethel College student is suspected to have drowned in Longville, Clarendon, yesterday evening.

He is 17-year-old Kamally Bennett of Coolie Town in the parish.

According to police reports, Kamally went to fetch water at a river about 6:30 pm and decided to go for a swim.

It is believed that he got into difficulties and drowned.

His body was retrieved by residents and taken to hospital where death was confirmed.
