450 rounds of ammunition seized from Westmoreland farmer

WESTMORELAND, Jamaica – A 25-year-old Westmoreland farmer was on Monday taken into custody after police reportedly found 450 9mm rounds of ammunition in his possession in Leamington district in the parish.

Police report that about 4:00 pm, lawmen were in the area when they saw a man walking along the road. He was accosted and searched, and the rounds found in a plastic bag he was carrying. He was subsequently arrested.

Police say his identity is being withheld pending further investigations.
