58-y-o Westmoreland man charged with firearm possession

WESTMORELAND, Jamaica — The police is reporting that a58-year-oldman has been arrested and charged with illegal possession of firearm and ammunition following an operation in Bath district, Strathbogie in Westmoreland on Thursday, April 18.

Charged is Devon Black, otherwise called 'Blackie', a farmer ofBath district.

Reports from the Savanna-la-Mar Police are that during an operation between 5:00 am and 7:20 am a 9mm Luger pistol with a magazine containing eight 9mm cartridges was found in an unfinished concrete house where Black resides. An undetermined quantity of vegetable matter resembling ganja was also found, the police said.

Black was taken into custody in connection with the seizures.
