Anti-lottery scam Task Force arrests Trelawny man

KINGSTON, Jamaica — Members of the Anti-Lottery Scam Task Force and the Jamaica Defence Force conducted an operation at Stone Brook, in Florence Hall, Trelawny this morning in which one man was arrested.

Thirty-three-year-old Horace Troupe, a businessman of the community was arrested on an outstanding warrant in relation to charges for felonious wounding and malicious destruction of property. 

The charge of possession of ganja was subsequently added following the discovery of a quantity of ganja in his possession.

During the operation, which began about 5:30 Friday morning, premises were searched and several documents, cellular phones, registration plates, a laptop computer, and a 2004 Toyota Camry motorcar were seized. Police say that investigations have so far revealed that the motor vehicle registration plate as well as its documents may have been fraudulent.
