Bolt's spikes worth £20,000 stolen in London
KINGSTON, Jamaica — A pair of running shoes, signed by Olympic Champion Usain Bolt and framed for display with a photo of the athlete after he set the 100 metre world record in 2009 were stolen in South London.
The UK based websites http://www.croydonadvertiser.co.uk/ and http://www.london24.com/ are reporting that the shoes, identical to those worn when Bolt set the 100m world record in 2009 were stolen from a commercial premises in Gloucester Road, Croydon between 10.30pm on April 26 and 5.45am on April 28.
The orange Puma shoes were reportedly auctioned off during a sporting memorabilia sale at Sotheby’s in November 2012 and are valued at around £20,000.
