KINGSTON, Jamaica - Police say they have made a breakthrough in the double murder of brothers, Barrington Robinson, 25, and 34-year-old Germaine 'Coolie' Lawrence in Angels Grove, St Catherine on Monday.

"After days of investigation we have identified a number of suspects in the case," a senior investigator told the Observer.

Police say the suspects are believed to be major players in the criminal underworld.

Reports are that the brothers were travelling in a car when they came upon a roadblock.

The men were shot dead by unknown assailants when the driver reportedly alighted from the vehicle and attempted to clear the blockage.

Police report that the car with the bodies was then set ablaze.
