KINGSTON, Jamaica — Minister with responsibility for Sport in the Office of the Prime Minister, Natalie Neita Headley, has joined the Institute of Sports (InSports) in expressing condolences to the family of Bruce McFarlane, the Assistant National Sports Coordinator at InSports, who died on August 22.

Neita Headley, in a reslease today, described McFarlane as a true champion of sports and pioneer of Primary School Football Competitions in addition to being an enthusiast and dedicated worker. “Mr McFarlane’s passion for the development of sports, particularly at the community and the primary school levels allowed the organization to positively promote development activities,” said Neita Headley. “He was very involved in the organization and establishment of the first National Primary School Football Competition. We were always able to rely on his fullest support, and he never hesitated to step in and help where he saw a need.”

Neita Headley added that, “his widow Marlene and two children can be assured that fond and respectful memories of Bruce McFarlane reside in our hearts.”

MacFarlane was employed to InSports from 2002.
