KINGSTON, Jamaica — A bus supervisor is to be charged with bribery following his arrest by members of the Anti Corruption Branch on Friday.

Police report that they were conducting spot checks along the Spanish Town Bypass in St Catherine, when they observed a Toyota Coaster mini bus overtaking a line of traffic. The driver obeyed the signal to stop, but later fled the scene.

It is alleged that later that day, the supervisor visited the Spanish Town Police Station and offered the policemen $10,000 in order for them not to prosecute the driver and impound the bus.

The lawmen contacted the Anti Corruption Branch, and the supervisor was nabbed.

He is expected to appear before the Spanish Town Resident Magistrate's Court later this week.
