Cocaine seized on Coke Drive, St Elizabeth

ST ELIZABETH, Jamaica – A man has been arrested in connection with the seizure of more than $4 million worth of cocaine on Coke Drive, Santa Cruz in St Elizabeth yesterday.

Reports are that about 11:35 pm, a team of police officers assigned to the Narcotics Division was conducting operations in the area when they intercepted a motorcar.

The motor vehicle was searched and four parcels of cocaine weighing approximately 3.5 kilograms with an estimated street value of $4,189,500 were found.

The driver of the vehicle , who is from Westmoreland, is facing multiple charges, including possession of cocaine, dealing in cocaine, taking steps preparatory to the export of cocaine and trafficking cocaine. He is to be interviewed in the presence of his attorney, the police say.
