Cops hunt man who chopped woman dead beside sleeping children

A man who chopped a woman multiple times as her children slept beside her, is being hunted by the Police.

He has been identified as Howard Williams, the common law husband 47-year-old Sonia Martin of Potsdam district in Malvern, St Elizabeth was found this morning at her home with her throat slashed.

Police report that the couple were involved several domestic squabbles which ended with the macabre murder.

Minutes after midnight, Martin was asleep beside her two children, when Williams gained entry and chopped the sleeping woman.

Police say one of the children was awakened by sounds of the blows. The child told Police that a man, believed to be Williams, standing over his mother with a machete.

The child reported that the man fled.

The Police are now anyone knowing his whereabouts is being asked to contact the Malvern Police at 966-5145, Police 119 emergency number or the nearest Police Station.
