Cops seek gunman with fake Jamaican accent

Thursday, February 09, 2012

POLICE in Norristown, Pennsylvania are seeking a gunman with a fake Jamaican accent who robbed a female taxi driver at gunpoint Sunday.

The Times Herald, Pennsylvania, USA, reports that the robber also asked for the woman’s phone number and made small talk before leaving.

The driver said she had picked up the man and during the drive he said he had arrived recently from Jamaica.

When the taxi reached his stop, she said he pulled out a gun and ordered her to keep driving.

He used the opportunity to go through her purse, and when he didn’t find anything, asked her if she had a boyfriend.

He left with $88 in cash, but before leaving the car, ordered the taxi driver out, then told her to turn so he could “look at her body”, the Times Herald reports.

He asked for her phone number, then allowed her to drive away.

The gunman, who the driver said spoke with a “fake Jamaican accent”, was described as being an “extremely light skinned” black man in his 20s, about 5 feet 4 inches tall and weighing 150 to 160 pounds, the Times Herald reports.
