Cops identify man reportedly stabbed over taxi fare

ST ANDREW, Jamaica — The police have identified the man who was on Tuesday evening stabbed to death while travelling in a taxi along Hope Road in St Andrew, close to the Andrews Memorial Hospital.

Dead is 25-year-old France Nooks who is said to be an entertainer.

Nooks, who was in the taxi that runs from Half Way Tree to Liguanea, was reportedly stabbed in the abdomen after an argument over fare ensued between him and the taxi driver.

The injured man then ran onto the hospital's compound where medical personnel began treating the wounds. However, he died soon after.

Police did not state whether or not the driver of the taxi has been taken into custody.
