Curfew imposed in Denham Town ZOSO

KINGSTON, Jamaica — A curfew has been imposed in sections of the Denham Town community since 7:00 pm last night and will remain in effect until 6:00 am Monday, the Zones of Special Operation Communication Centre announced today.

The boundaries of the curfew are as follows:

North starting at the intersection of Little King Street and Race Course Lane (Blount Street); travelling to the fence line forming the western periphery of the Golden Heights housing development, also annexing the northern and eastern sections of the said development, travelling south along the paved gully and continuing to the intersection of William Street and Upper Rose Lane; east Starting at the intersection of William Street and Upper Rose Lane and continuing south along Rose Lane to the intersection Beeston Street and Rose Lane; south Starting at the intersection of Beeston Street and Rose Lane continuing west along Beeston Street to the intersection of Spanish Town Road; west Starting at the intersection of Beeston Street and Spanish Town Road continuing north west along Spanish Town Road to the intersection of North Street and Spanish Town Road, then east onto North Street to the intersection with Last Street, moving north along Last Street to the corner of a perimeter wall of the Denham Town Primary School and then travelling south westerly along the perimeter wall of the said Denham Town Primary School.

It continues along a fence line on a similar trend and ending along a section of Spanish Town Road and Albert Street in the vicinity of the Denham Town Police Station, continuing along Albert Street to the north eastern property boundary of the Denham Town Police Station, travelling west north west along the perimeter wall marking the northern extent of the police station to the north western boundary of the police station.

It then continues south westerly along Water Street to Spanish Town Road and then continuing along Spanish Town Road to the intersection of Little King Street, travelling north easterly along Little King Street to the starting point.

During the hours of the curfew, all persons within the boundaries are required to remain within their premises unless otherwise authorised in writing by the joint commanders within the zone.

The joint xommanders are Lieutenant Colonel Murphy Pryce and Senior Superintendent of Police Everald Linton.
Denham Town and its environs was declared the second zone of special operations under the Law Reform (Zones of Special Operations) (Special Security and Community Development Measures) Act by the prime minister on October 17.
