KINGSTON, Jamaica — Police are now probing the circumstances surrounding the death of an 11-year-old student of the Half-Way-Tree Primary School.
“We have heard about the incident and we are trying to gather details at this moment,” an officer at the Half-Way-Tree Police Station told the Observer today.
School officials have not released the name of the student but confirmed the report.
They said that that school was informed of the child’s death on Wednesday.
The tragic incident is the second to hit the Kingston school community this week.
On Tuesday students at Meadowbrook High school were left in shock after a teacher, Orville Heaven, collapsed and died in the classroom.
