Digicel rolls out new bundled offers

KINGSTON, Jamaica — In another big move in its “Destination Data” drive to be the “go-to place” for all things data, Digicel says it will today debut a new range of affordable Voice and Data bundles catering to its customers' growing daily demand for “nuff data” and “more talk”.

Based entirely on customer feedback and calls for simplified offerings, transparent charging and no catches, Digicel said prepaid customers will now be able to get 100 megabytes of 4G/LTE data, plus 100 on-net minutes for $100, valid for two days.

That is enough megabytes to send and receive over 3,000 WhatsApp texts, listen to over 200 minutes of music, spend over 300 minutes on Facebook, stream over 50 minutes of video, or upload over 30 photos — all in two days, the telecoms company explained, adding that over the same period, the 100 Digicel-to-Digicel minutes give customers lots of talk time.

Other new Data and Talk bundled offers include 300MB plus 250 minutes for $250 for 7days, 700MB plus 500 minutes for $500 for 15 days, 1.5GB plus 1,000 minutes for $1,000 for 30 days, or 4GB and 2,000 minutes for 30 days.

All bundles come with free access to the Play Go app for TV on-the-go, unlimited rollover and no automatic data overage charges.

Data only plans start with 200MB for 2 days for only $100, 500MB for 7 days for $250, or, 1GB for 15 days for $500.

“We're listening and we're changing. This is all about giving customers what they told us they wanted. Never before have so many megabytes or minutes been packed into bundles and plans that are simple, flexible and super affordable for customers to use as much as they need, because they always get the chance to rollover megabytes and minutes and keep what they didn't use,” commented Justin Morin, CEO of Digicel Jamaica.

These offers come hot on the heels of Digicel's renewed promise to customers.

Digicel said since the debut of its “Destination Data” programme, it has removed automatic overages so that customers are always asked before being charged for out-of-bundle data, introduced Unlimited Rollover data so that customers get to keep and use what they've paid for, improved the My Digicel app so that users can easily track their usage and manage their account, and reduced the out-of-bundle data rate by a massive 60 per cent — from $50 to just $20 per megabyte.
