Elderly man mowed down, killed in Portland

PORTLAND, Jamaica — An elderly man is now dead following an accident in Portland on Saturday.
He has been identified as 88-year-old Phillip McLaughlin of Windsor Castle, Portland. McLaughlin died yesterday as a result of injuries he sustained.
The Buff Bay Police report that about 7:30 pm, on Saturday McLaughlin was walking along the Windsor Castle main road when he was hit by a motor car.
He was taken to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries the following day. The driver of the motor car has since been taken into custody.
