Elderly man hit by bus in Hanover, dies

HANOVER, Jamaica — Investigators assigned to the Hanover Police Division are probing the circumstances surrounding the fatal collision that claimed the life of an elderly man on the Green Island main road in Hanover on Saturday.

Dead is 79-year-old Amos Brissett of Industry Cove, Hanover.

The police said Brissett reportedly lost control of the bicycle he was riding and collided with a Toyota Coaster bus that was heading in the same direction.

The incident took place about 6:50 pm.

The police were summoned and Brissett was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The driver of the bus has since been warned for prosecution.
