Ewarton NWC customers promised resumption of service tomorrow
Wednesday, September 05, 2012 | 3:14 PM
KINGSTON, Jamaica - The National Water Commission (NWC) is advising customers in Ewarton and surrounding areas of St Catherine that the disruption in service they are currently experiencing is due to a broken eight-inch transmission main on the Ewarton/Nutshell system.
The company says repairs are presently being carried out and water supply is scheduled to return on Thursday, September 6.
Also in St Catherine, customers served by the Bershire Hall Treatment Plant are without their water supply as a result of a dislocated pipeline and mechanical problems on the network.
The NWC says restoration of regular service is expected to resume as soon as repairs to the pipeline are completed, while customers in Redwood will have their water supply restored within the next four to six weeks, when the mechanical problems are resolved.
In the interim, water will be trucked to the affected areas.
