KINGSTON, Jamaica — The National Works Agency (NWA) has advised that a Jamaica Public Service (JPS) light pole with live wires has fallen across Constant Spring Road and is urging motorists to use alternative routes.

The fallen pole has resulted in restricted access to areas north of the Constant Spring Police Station, NWA said.

Communication and customer services manager at the NWA, Stephen Shaw, in an advisory a short while ago, said while there is a team at the location working to remove the impediment, it is uncertain when access will be fully restored to that section of the roadway.

As such motorists are being urged to use Olivier and Shortwood Roads when travelling southbound towards Half Way Tree. The same route can also be used to get to areas beyond the Constant Spring Police Station.

NWA said its team is working with JPS to have the pole removed from the roadway in the shortest possible time.
