GEORGETOWN, Guyana (CMC) – A 22 year-old private with the Guyana Defence Force (GDF) returns to court on February 26 charged with the murder of the mother of her former boyfriend.

Abiola Jacobs appeared before Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry on Wednesday but was not called upon to plead in the case in which she is accused of murdering 55-year-old Donna Taylor on January 31.

Taylor was found dead by her husband with her throat slit and her hands tied behind her back. British national, Samantha Sabat, a guest at the house, suffered a broken arm and head injuries after jumping from the veranda as she fled the killers.

Jacobs was unrepresented when she appeared in court.
