Female DC chopped, injured while on duty in Hanover

HANOVER, Jamaica — Police in Hanover have arrested a woman who reportedly attacked a female district constable in the parish yesterday.

According to the lawmen, the officer was in Cousin's Cove in the parish on enquires in relation to a report about a child in need of care and protection.

While asking around about the child, she was reportedly attacked and chopped in the left palm and on her right thumb by a woman who is said to be mentally challenged.

It is further reported that citizens came to the policewoman's assistance and she managed to escape further injuries.

She was taken to hospital where she was treated and released.
