A seven bedroom house was destroyed by fire at Simmonds Park in Kingston this morning.

Police report that at about 7:00am residents in the area saw smoke coming from the concrete dwelling and raised an alarm.

"I was over at my house and I saw the smoke and started to alert occupants," said Phillip Robinson, a resident.

Fire units from York Park and Half Way Tree responded to the distress call.

Police are still working to determine the cost of the damages.

The house was not insured.
